As one of the newest members of the acclaimed ACID series of smokes (it was introduced in 2017 at the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers convention [IPCPR]), the ACID Blondie Gold is part of Drew Estate’s smooth, flowery and relaxing ACID Gold sub-range of sticks.
The ACID series of cigars gets its name from the business moniker of Brooklyn urban/industrial/graffiti/motorcycle artist Scott Chester (whose company name was Arielle Chester Industrial Design, or A.C.I.D., and whose silhouette graces the packaging of all Drew Estate ACID cigars).
Solidly constructed, easily drawing and evenly burning, the shorter-statured ACID Blondie Gold blends delicately aged Nicaraguan binder and long-filler tobaccos and surrounds them with an Indonesian Sumatra-leaf wrapper, producing a thoroughly mellowed, medium-to-full-bodied, medium-strength, rich and earthy smoke.
Like all the sticks in the ACID series, the ACID Blondie Gold is infused with more than 100 separate herbs, botanicals and essential oils via a top-secret, proprietary process that’s undertaken in dedicated curing rooms at Drew Estate’s Gran Fabrica factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The resultant flavors of this cigar have been described by turns as herbal, spicy, fruity, sweet and floral.
The ACID Blondie Gold pairs well with tea or other light-bodied beverages and is well-liked by smokers of all experience levels — even by those who do not normally take to infused cigars. Its compact petit-corona size makes it the perfect reliable, enjoyable and satisfying 20-to-30-minute smoke.
