Mr. Punch Celebrating the Year of the Ox
Off the heels of Punch's previous themed releases of the Punch Eggroll and Punch Chop Suey, new for 2021, Mr. Punch has released the limited edition Punch Kung Pow, available in takeout trays of 20. The cigar is a 5 country blend of Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a Honduran Habano binder, and fillers from Honduras, the Dominican, Brazil, and Mexico.
Opening the tray reveals a Toro (6" x 52) sized cigar with an unfinished foot. Unwrapping the Punch Kung Pow from its cellophane, you immediatly feel the quality and craftsmanship. The cigar is solid, with no soft spots, snipping the cap reveals a perfect draw. Lighting the unfinished foot you are greeted to intense velvety flavors of leather that just coat the palate. Upon making it to the wrapper the flavor intensifies with chocolate and hints of walnut. The last third picks up a rich spice.
The ash was solid and never flaked even at the foot. A solid medium-full bodied cigar with a slow even burn.
